Life isn't always fair. And it wasn't fair to Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook after receiving a technical foul for accidentally kicking Detroit Pistons shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the groin area while attempting to draw a foul in mid-shooting motion.

The tech stems from the “Draymond Green Rule” instituted this season after Green's infamous playoff antics down the stretch. The rule assesses an automatic technical for any contact with the nether region of a player, even if accidental, as it's clearly the case here.

As unfortunate as receiving a technical foul can be for something he had no idea would happen, we can definitely empathize more with Caldwell-Pope who clearly got the worse end of this nifty trade with a back heel to the man region.

Ouch! Our condolences.
