Over the last couple of weeks, the NBA's offseason simmered down considerably. The draft is long gone, and much of the heavy lifting of free agency is over. But, a few big question marks remained on the table.

Would Russell Westbrook sign an extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder? And if he didn't, would he be traded? Late last night, we received the answer.

Exactly one month after Kevin Durant announced that he was leaving OKC to join the Golden State Warriors, Westbrook signed a three-year extension (with a player option) to remain with the Thunder.

At today's press conference to discuss the renegotiation of Westbrook's contract, Russ opened up about how he learned that KD was jumping ship from OKC.

He didn't receive a personal message before it went public, or some sort of notification from the Thunder's front office. Instead, Westbrook took in the news from Durant's Players' Tribune article, like the rest of us.

From ESPN's Royce Young:

Westbrook on how he found out Durant was leaving: “I found out like y'all found out.”

He did receive a farewell text message later on from KD, but that was reportedly deleted shortly after.

Westbrook and Durant's ongoing relationship (or lack thereof) moving forward will be one of the more interesting storylines to follow this coming season, and beyond.
