Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook formed one of the most feared duos in the NBA playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After blowing a 3-1 lead against the Golden State Warriors and Durant joining the same team in free agency, the two stars have yet to speak with each other on friendly terms since.

Washington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks, who coached the duo for seven years, is disturbed that his two former superstars are no longer on speaking terms.

Brooks was as much a part of what they had become and spoke with the Oklahoman's Erik Horne about seeing the how camaraderie crumbled.

“It doesn't make me feel good. As a coach of the team … when you're coaching a group of athletic, competitive-minded players, you're gonna have arguments, you're gonna have disagreements, but you have to be able to keep the group together. I thought the staff did a great job of doing that with a lot of people trying to separate them.”

He does remain optimistic and feels the situation is something that will pass eventually.

“I think that eventually they're going to (talk) … I don't think they have. I'll trust you guys that you guys know they haven't spoke(n), and maybe that's probably dangerous on my part to trust you guys. But I don't like to see that. They did so many wonderful things together and they should be proud of that and not be focused on not winning the championship. A lot of things happen in order to win one and (I'm) fortunate we were there and able to (try to) win one.”

Brooks understood how the two worked best together. He was eventually let go by the Thunder after numerous trips to the playoffs and one NBA Finals appearance.
