Seattle Seahawks running back C.J Prosise has coach Pete Carroll fired up after his last two performances in the preseason.

It looked like Prosise might be the odd man out in a crowded running back room, but in the final two preseason games, he rushed 10 times for 74 yards and looked like the best running back on the roster.

“We’re really excited about C.J.’s performance the last couple weeks,” coach Pete Carroll commented after Monday’s practice via Seahawks Wire. “Really shows his versatility, big playability. Shoot, I was fired up for him.”

Prosise dealt with injuries most of the offseason including a hip injury during training camp that held him out of the first two preseason games.

Prosise admits that he was in a dark spot this offseason, but it's all paid off, and he is ready to help the team any way he can.

“It’s been tough,” Prosise commented after the final preseason game. “There’s been some tough days, a lot of dark days and a lot of days that I don’t want to keep going. I have a great support system and I have a lot of people around me. It’s paid off and I want to keep paying it off and I want to keep working.”

Prosise will probably work as the change of pace back this season, and with Carroll's comments, it seems he will get plenty of chances on the field.

“Over the years, we’ve thrown him the football and worked him out of the backfield,” Carroll continued. “All of the mainline run stuff in the offense he can do and he’s a pass protector too. He can hold up the pass protections, 227 pounds.”
