It appears as though Cliff Avril and the rest of the Seattle Seahawks didn't take Earl Thomas seriously.

They knew his love for the Dallas Cowboys. They just never thought he'd get his wish to play for Big D, Avril admits while on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Tuesday.

“Cliff Avril on Earl Thomas saying he wants to be in Dallas: Everyone in (the Seahawks) locker room knows Earl loves the Cowboys. He'd leave immediately after work just to catch them play MNF. We didn't take it too serious. Whatever team he dresses up for he's gonna do his thing.”

Thomas, 29, was the Seahawks 14th overall selection back in 2010 and truly represents the first dominant acquisition of the Legion of Boom era. His centerfield abilities out of the Cover 3 (three-deep) look are nothing short of legendary. That's how good his career's been as a walk-in future Pro Football Hall of Fame safety.

Thomas grew up in Orange, Texas and played safety for the Texas Longhorns collegiately. Everybody knew he grew up a big-time Cowboys fan and that he eventually wanted to play for Jerry's team.

A year ago, the Pro-Bowl Thomas played 14 games while collecting two picks, one forced fumble, 56 tackles, six passes defensed and one defensive touchdown.
