When the New England Patriots waived Josh Gordon and allowed him to be claimed by the Seattle Seahawks, many wondered why. We may be founding out why with Gordon being suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy per Adam Schefter.

As a result of Gordon's most recent suspension, the veteran wideout won't be able to finish the season with the Seahawks. During his time in Seattle, Gordon was only able to tally seven receptions for 139 yards.

The NFL suspended Gordon without pay for violating the league's performance-enhancing and substance-abuse policy. This isn't the first time that Gordon has had trouble remaining on the field due to off-of-the field issues.

Before being taken in the 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft by the Cleveland Browns, Gordon had some red flags at Baylor. Then, he was unfortunately suspended for the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

The Baylor product would be reinstated by the league to rejoin the Browns in 2017. Despite his reinstatement, Gordon was only able to log five games during the 2017 season.

The following season, Gordon was traded to the Patriots; possibly giving him an environment to help him overcome his faults. But after starting in 11 games for New England in 2018, he would be suspended yet again for substance abuse.

Even with his previous occurrences, the NFL chose to allow him to get another chance by reinstating him to begin the 2019 season. This time around, it's tough to believe that the NFL gives him another chance.

In his second season in the NFL, Gordon hauled in 87 receptions, 1,646 yards, and nine touchdowns. Now, he's turned into one of the biggest ‘what-ifs' in recent memory. It goes without saying that we hope Gordon focuses on helping himself before choosing what to do next.
