The Seattle Seahawks' offseason was considered a major success by the fans due to the acquisition of Jadeveon Clowney from the Houston Texans. Now that he finished his first game as a member of the Seahawks, Seattle's front office couldn't be any happier with their man.

He played well in the Seahawks' narrow victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. He recorded two tackles, one of which was a sack. He also made a pass deflection on the passing routes.

A major concern for the team was his attitude coming in. The main reason the lopsided trade even occurred was the difficulty they had in getting him to settle terms on a contract.

However, Pete Carroll and the coaching staff didn't find any of these issues with Clowney.

Per Gregg Bell of The News Tribune:

“I think it’s worth remarking that he’s been great about attitude-wise, and his mentality has been great,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said in the middle of his second game week with his new, prized pass rusher.

“He’s been upbeat and positive. He’s been very oriented to not trying to be in the limelight front of it all. He’s been very humble about the way he’s taken to the approach.”

Clowney was all business in the locker room, too. He believes his linemates can step their game up.

“I feel like we did OK with it, at times. But we have a lot of work to do,” he said. “It’s only our first week being together like this and getting to know each other.

“I just got here, so we’re just trying to get guys lined up and learn what they’re doing.”

He has the right to say that as he is a Pro Bowler for three years straight now. In his five years with the Texans, he recorded 207 tackles, 29 of which were sacks. He also hit the quarterback 67 times, recovered fumbles six times, and completed two pick-sixes.

With the quality Clowney brings to the table, fans can expect the Seahawks secondary to improve over time.
