It's only been a little less than a week since the Seattle Seahawks acquired Jadeveon Clowney and he was glad to be back on the field on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The defense wasn't spectacular but they did enough to get the job done, and Clowney knows that going forward they are going to be better.

“I think we did OK,” Clowney said via the Seattle Times. “We’ve got a lot of work to do. It’s only our first week being together like this and getting to know each other. I just got here. So we’re just trying to get guys lined up and learn what to do.”

“We don’t want to peak now anyway. We’ve got a lot of football left. We’ll just keep working toward that.”

Clowney didn't participate in training camp while going through a contract dispute with the Houston Texans and he admits he does feel a little rusty out on the field.

He also hasn't learned the entire defense yet, and it's something he is going to focus on this year as he tries to continue to get adjusted to the new team.

“I’m still learning this defense,” he said. “I learned most of it in five days, but still got a lot more learning to do.”

Ziggy Ansah, the other big offseason pickup on the defensive line, was questionable heading into Sunday but couldn't go after the pregame workout. Coach Pete Carroll said after the game the hope is that Ansah will be ready to go for Week 2, but the team is going to make sure he is 100 percent ready to go.
