The Seattle Seahawks will need to make some moves to create room for newly acquired pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Seattle is expected to release wide receiver Jaron Brown.

On Saturday morning, the Seahawks made a blockbuster move to acquire Clowney from the Houston Texans. In the trade, Seattle sent Barkevious Mingo, Jacob Martin, and a third-round pick.

Along with those two players, the Seahawks have to release some players to help create some cap-space so Clowney can sign his franchise tender. As a result, the team will be parting ways with one of their veteran receivers in Brown.

Before the 2018 season, Brown signed with the Seahawks after spending his first five seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals. In his first season in Seattle, the veteran wideout caught just 14 passes for 166 yards. However, five of his 14 receptions went for touchdowns.

Throughout training camp, Brown has been competing with multiple players to earn a prominent role in the offense. The Seahawks drafted three receivers in D.K. Metcalf, Gary Jennings, and John Ursua so it was going to be tough to make the roster.

Currently, the Seahawks only have one of their top three receivers on the depth chart as a full-go in Week 1. Tyler Lockett is ready to improve upon a productive 2018 season but Metcalf and David Moore are both recovering from injuries.

After Brown's release, Pete Carroll may have to rely upon Jennings and Ursua to contribute in the passing game to begin the season.
