Russell Wilson trade rumors are heating up after the The Athletic dropped a bombshell about his rift with the Seattle Seahawks. Wilson has been rather vocal with his displeasure with the organization recently, and rightly so. In 2020 alone, the Seahawks allowed 48 sacks, the third-most in the league. It has been that way the last few years now, and Wilson is finally letting out his frustration.
The Athletic's report went as far as saying Wilson's camp had broached a potential trade with the Seahawks, with the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints and Las Vegas Raiders listed as preferred destinations. ESPN's Adam Schefter followed up with his own report on Thursday, courtesy of Wilson's agent:
Seahawks’ QB Russell Wilson has not demanded a trade, his agent Mark Rodgers told ESPN. Wilson has told the Seahawks he wants to play in Seattle but, if a trade were considered, the only teams he would go to are the Cowboys, Saints, Raiders, Bears.

It's interesting to note that there are two different teams listed here compared to the other report, with the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears taking place of the Dolphins and Jets. Russell Wilson has a no-trade clause, so he'd effectively control the situation if he were to actually demand a trade.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also gave his insight on the situation, discussing how over 10 teams have called the Seahawks about a Wilson trade in recent weeks. However, there's no indication Seattle has engaged much on these calls, and Rap notes all parties seem to realize figuring things out is the best-case scenario:

It's certainly in Seattle's best interest to keep Russell Wilson on the roster. Pete Carroll doesn't have the time to go through a rebuild, and the Seahawks are a playoff-caliber team with Wilson. We'll see if they can work through their issues and figure things out before the 2021 season.
