Having dealt with all the media pressure from last year and a long offseason full of promise, the 76ers had a dinner with one of West Philadelphia's finest — the Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith.

Smith, also a 76ers minority owner, hosted the dinner in efforts to connect with the players and staff and even gave his share of advice.

“If you have bad people around you, that’s how people see you,” Joel Embiid said of Smith's advice to Keith Pompey of Philly.com. “He said to have good people around.”

While they all shared a common goal, it was hard for players to keep the business-face on as many idolized the Hollywood star growing up.

“Man, that was one of the idols,” said power forward/center Nerlens Noel.

“Starstruck,” he added. “It’s hard to get starstruck nowadays. But when you see Will Smith, it’s a whole different ballgame.”
