Ben Simmons is one of the most talented rookies in the NBA. Not only is the Philadelphia 76ers freshman a frontrunner for this year's Rookie of the Year award, he has constantly broken several league and Sixer records in his rise to NBA stardom.

In 2016, Simmons was drafted with the first overall pick by the Sixers. He missed his entire first season with a broken foot and there were some doubts that he was all hype. Now, he is proving the critics wrong.

On Thursday, Simmons became the second Sixers' rookie to score 30 points and 10 assists in a game. The only other person to achieve such a feat was none other than Hall-of-Famer Allen Iverson.

Iverson is commonly remembered as one of the greatest Sixers of all time. Iverson is also one of the best scorers in NBA history, known for his exceptional dribbling moves and offensive forays. Simmons being in the same company as Iverson is truly a great accomplishment. However, he shouldn't get too comfortable.

As things stand right now, the Sixers are going to make the postseason this year. Most likely, the team will take one of the lower spots in the Eastern Conference. That means that the Sixers will have to look forward to potential playing against the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, and Cleveland Cavaliers. The Sixers will need to come together and do all they can to come away with the upset.

In his rookie year, Simmons has a chance of doing great things more often. If he can remain healthy, he could very well run end up as the Rookie of the Year and lead his team to the playoffs after years of futility.
