Upon league office review, Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons has been fined $20,000 and assessed a Flagrant Foul 1 for hitting Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry on the groin in the Sixers' Game 3 win on Thursday.

The incident took place in the second quarter.

Kyle Lowry was visibly upset right after the play happened. The Raptors guard and Ben Simmons have some history. They got into a minor scuffle last season as well.

The Sixers are up 2-1 on the Raptors and will look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4, which is on Sunday.

Simmons finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in Game 3. The lefty shot 5-of-13 from the field in 36 minutes. The Sixers won by 21 points and are clicking on all cylinders right now.

Lowry and the Raptors, meanwhile, are struggling. The veteran put up just seven points in Game 3. Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam were the only players on the Raptors who showed up the last time out.

The Sixers are trying to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2001. That was the year Allen Iverson led Philly to the NBA Finals, where the Sixers lost to Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal and the Los Angeles Lakers in five games.
