The Philadelphia 76ers may not have made as big a splash as the likes of the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers this offseason, but in the mind of team owner Josh Harris, the Sixers are definitely moving towards the right direction. So much so that Harris has sent praises towards team general manager Elton Brand, who the former believes to have done a wonderful job at the helm thus far.

Perhaps the most significant move the Sixers have made in the offseason thus far was their successful re-signing of Tobias Harris to a five-year, $180 million deal. Following a mid-season trade from the Los Angeles Clippers last season, the 6-foot-9 forward averaged 18.2 points (on 46.9 percent shooting), 1.6 three-pointers, 7.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 27 appearances for the Sixers. The front office obviously considers Harris to be a huge part of their future plans moving forward, and deemed him worthy of such a hefty extension deal.

A close second would be their acquisition of free agent big man Al Horford on a four-year, $109 million deal, as he appears to be the perfect front-court partner to pair with Joel Embiid.

These two moves alone would have been enough to give Brand and his front office a very high grade in their offseason dealings, but it is also worth noting that Philadelphia did lose Jimmy Butler in a sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat, and also failed to secure J.J. Redick (now on his way to the New Orleans Pelicans) to an extension.

Nevertheless, Harris still considers this to be a net win for the 76ers, and it does look like the team will prove to be a force to be reckoned with next season.
