Former Philadelphia 76ers sharpshooter J.J. Redick has agreed to a two-year, $26.5 million deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The New Orleans Pelicans have a lot to look forward to this season. They traded Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers for a huge haul, getting draft picks as well as Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart.

New Orleans then traded the fourth pick in the draft and Solomon Hill to the Atlanta Hawks for multiple picks.

Of course, the biggest acquisition was number one pick Zion Williamson. The Pels added Jaxson Hayes later at center, but they desperately needed shooters.

Now the Pelicans have one of the most lethal 3-point shooters in the NBA: J.J. Redick.

Redick will fit nicely with the team as a floor spacer. The players the Pelicans acquired in the Davis trade all have tons of potential, but aren't elite shooters. Ball isn't going to offer much. Ingram might be able to help in that category, but is much better as he gets closer inside.

Williamson is obviously a slasher and Jrue Holiday can provide a solid outside shot, but shouldn't be the “guy” from three.

Redick now gives them the one thing they were totally lacking. Yes, New Orleans could still use a center, but with the contract being worth only $13.25-million per year, the Pelicans still have some money to spend.

Maybe this isn't the last move they make this offseason.
