While speaking to Philadelphia 76ers reporters on Monday, Sixers shooting guard Josh Richardson declined to share what the team is thinking about doing in Orlando to keep speaking up against racial injustices in America.

However, Richardson did say the Sixers are going to do something special.

The NBA and National Basketball Players Association have agreed to a long list of messages players can put on the back of their jerseys. With that said, it should be fascinating to see what Richardson and his Sixers teammates decide to do.

Before the season was suspended in March after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19, the Sixers were in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings despite having a stellar home record of 29-2. Philadelphia was only 10-24 on the road, so that's why they weren't higher in the standings.

Prior to games getting suspended, Richardson was averaging 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists for the Sixers while shooting 32.7 percent from beyond the arc. The hiatus must have been good for the former Miami Heat wing, as he was able to get a ton of rest. That is going to be beneficial for the Sixers once the 2020 playoffs start. Richardson may have more stamina to guard some of the best guards in the league.

Odds are the Sixers are going to need Josh Richardson to play a lot of minutes in the playoffs since he’s such a sound three-and-D guy. There's a lot of pressure on the team to play well in the postseason, as there have been rumblings that Sixers GM Elton Brand could trade Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid if the club doesn't go on a deep playoff run.
