It has been nothing short of a difficult first few months of his rookie campaign for Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz that has been marred by a nagging shoulder injury.

Things finally appear to be heading in the right direction with Fultz receiving medical clearance to begin the final stage of his recovery process, according to Michael C. Wright of ESPN.

This comes a few days after the 76ers had begun to include him in a few team practice drills and had joined them on their recent road trip. It has been a long and arduous recovery process for Fultz having not played since Nov. 23 against the Detroit Pistons. He has only played in four games this season where he's averaging 6.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 19.0 minutes per contest.

During a workout on Tuesday morning, Fultz appeared to finally be past his shoulder injury as his shooting form has begun to resemble what it once was during his one collegiate season at Washington, according to Kyle Neubeck of The Philly Voice.

With Fultz nearing his return, the team will likely take the precautionary route with the situation over the next couple of weeks given his importance to the 76ers' future. Nonetheless, this continued progression in his recovery is an encouraging sign.
