Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz, who had a star-crossed rookie season, will reportedly not play in the Summer League.

This news is according to PhillyVoice's Kyle Neubeck.

Fultz missed most of last season with an injury, which resulted in some weird happenings around him. Some people questioned his confidence, shot mechanics, or whether or not he was actually hurt. He did manage to come back right before the playoffs, and while he didn't see time in the postseason Fultz managed to play well in the final few regular season games.

Last month, Brett Brown spoke about Fultz and Summer League.

“His development of his shot is looking great,” Sixers coach Brett Brown said, per Neubeck. “The progress of his shot is looking great. His body, we all see him like with his shoulders and his arms and his wingspan…He's not doing much playing right now, the effort has been his shot…it's back to foundational-type stuff. And to like expedite that worries me a little bit as it relates to Summer League. It does. He's in a good place.”

Obviously, there's a lot going on with Philly at the moment, as the Sixers have reportedly landed a meeting with LeBron James' reps. This news will likely fly a bit under-the-radar, but is relatively important.
