The Philadelphia 76ers recently decided on the future of some of their young and promising players. It has been reported that the team will pick up their options on Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, Justin Anderson and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot for next season, according to their official release via Jessica Camerato of NBC.

Their decision makes it clear that all four players will be part of their future plans, and will play big roles for them moving forward. Except for Simmons, who only made his debut this season, they have impressed in their first couple of seasons in the league.

Now with last year’s top overall pick back to 100 percent following the Jones Fracture he suffered, they have a young core that can all grow together as professionals, including Joel Embiid, T.J. McConnell and Robert Covington, just to name a few. If everything goes according to plan for the Sixers, these players will lead them to greater heights and could be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

It is also worth noting that the team will allow Jahlil Okafor to become an unrestricted free agent next summer. The Duke product has fallen out of their rotation, and the logjam in their frontcourt has made him the odd-man out. There is a strong possibility that he could be dealt this season to clear some space upfront, and could land them another asset who can complement the games of their young guns. Should that happen, it will definitely be a win-win situation for all parties involved, and would give Okafor a chance to showcase his talents with another team.
