The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to improve their roster for the 2021-22 campaign, but they are searching for reinforcements through trades and free agency instead of the 2021 NBA Draft.

With that said, the Sixers have been rumored to be shopping their 28th pick for a veteran player that can help them now or a future asset that will be beneficial in building the team further, per Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

A league source confirmed the team has had discussions about parting with the pick if they can get value in return. The Sixers are open to trading it for future assets or a veteran player.

Trade discussions could heat up early next week, though it’s not a certainty that they’ll trade the pick. The Sixers also have a second-round pick (50th).

It remains to be seen if the Sixers will be able to pull off a trade for their pick, but it sure looks like the offseason is brewing to be a busy one for Daryl Morey and Co.

Aside from the pick, there have been several rumors pointing out that Philly is actively looking to trade All-Star point-forward Ben Simmons who hasn't really been a good fit alongside Joel Embiid. The likes of the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings have been said to be interested, though the Dubs have been reported to be unwilling to meet the Sixers' asking price.

While it is still unknown what the Sixers will do, one thing seems to be sure: they won't be silent this offseason.
