At the moment, Collin Sexton remains to be one of the bigger names in the market that has yet to secure a new deal in free agency. The Cleveland Cavaliers guard has already been linked to several teams, but at this point, it sounds like the San Antonio Spurs aren't going to be joining the race.

According to team insider LJ Ellis of Spurs Talk, San Antonio has shown no real interest in the Cavs combo guard:

Not only were the Spurs uninterested in Ayton, I’m told that the Spurs aren’t interested in any of the other players available in free agency. There were media reports that the Spurs may go after Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton, however I’ve heard of no interest in Sexton from San Antonio.

There's also a bit in the report that states that the Spurs were never really in the race for Deandre Ayton, who the Suns recently re-signed on a massive extension. As it turns out, San Antonio isn't actually interested in any big-name free agent at the moment:

The Spurs may look to sign or otherwise acquire a player on a cheap contract (like their signing of Gorgui Dieng and their acquisition of Isaiah Roby off of waivers) but it’s safe to close the book on the Spurs making a big splash this offseason with a free agent signing.

Not only is Sexton not going to be headed to San Antonio, but it seems that this team is going to be inactive in the market in terms of the big-name free agents still out there. At this point, it's safe to say that this team is going to be pretty bad in 2022-23.
