Everyone is starting to miss sports. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, most major sports have either been postponed or cancelled throughout the country. With April now upon us, the MLB was supposed to be just kicking off their season. Reminiscing on the previous era of baseball, Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes took to Twitter to express how much he missed āthe old MLB baseball days.ā Well, Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Eric Ebron jokingly replied to Mahomes urging him to quit football and go back to baseball.

Mahomes, the son of MLB pitcher Patrick Mahomes Sr., was a star baseball playing coming out of high school. He was considered one of the best pitchers in the high school class but decided to commit to Texas Tech to play football. Still, the Chiefs quarterback was drafted in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers but did not sign with the team.
The decision to play football over baseball seems like a no-brainer now as Mahomes has quickly developed into one of the brightest young stars in the NFL. The 24-year-old signal-caller was named league MVP in only his second season and in 2019, led Kansas City to a Super Bowl victory.
As for Ebron, the 26-year-old tight end recently signed a two-year deal worth $12 million with the Steelers after spending the first six seasons of his career with both the Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts.
In 11 games last year, Ebron caught 31 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns.
