Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin stepped in front of the media to address questions regarding his star wide receiver, Antonio Brown, who has been prominently in the news lately.

One of those headline-grabbing incidents was Brown's “trade me” tweet in response to a former Steelers employee saying Brown owed his success to Ben Roethlisberger.

Tomlin confirmed that Brown hasn't actually asked for a trade despite that concerning tweet.

Tomlin was also asked about Brown's reported no-show for team meetings on Monday. But while Tomlin confirmed Brown was not in the building, he did not disclose whether Brown's absence was excused or not.

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Brown hasn't asked for a trade. It was more an extreme response to the Twitter critic's disrespect of his accomplishments and shouldn't have been taken too seriously.

But while there shouldn't be much concern about Brown wanting out of Pittsburgh, his current behavior seems to indicate that there is still something that isn't quite right with the Steelers' star wideout.

He’s been making threats and accusations to members of media and got into a heated exchange with offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner on the sidelines in Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He might have also missed practice without telling Tomlin.

If it is indeed the case that Brown’s absence was unexcused, Tomlin will have to clear everything up with his star wide receiver, who needs to be fully committed and at his best for the Steelers to have a successful season.
