The Dwayne Haskins experiment was a debacle with the Washington Football Team, but he's getting a new lease on life with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After signing a one-year deal with the Steelers in the offseason, Haskins has survived cuts and made the 53-man roster, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapaport.

Haskins will likely be the No. 3 quarterback behind Ben Roethlisberger and Mason Rudolph, so he's probably not going to see any meaningful time on the field. But given how poorly things went for the young quarterback in Washington, just making Pittsburgh's final roster is an achievement for him.

The 24-year-old impressed in the Steelers' preseason opener, leading the team on three touchdown drives against the Philadelphia Eagles. Haskins didn't do all that much the remainder of the preseason, even while getting extended time on the field in the exhibition finale against the Carolina Panthers, but he still did enough to earn a roster spot.

Haskins was drafted 15th overall by Washington in the 2019 NFL Draft. He struggled overall despite some flashes, but he was named the starter for the 2020 season. Unfortunately, things went terribly for him, and he lost his starting gig. The young quarterback was also involved in some controversy for breaking COVID-19 protocols multiple times.

Washington ultimately cut ties with the former first-round pick, but Pittsburgh decided to give him a chance. Dwayne Haskins has now earned a spot with the Steelers, and he'll try to resurrect his career and potentially get an even better opportunity down the line.
