There are a few players in the NBA that will surely leave you in awe of how they play on the court. Whether it’s LeBron James' definitive block on Andre Iguodala during the 2016 Finals or Damian Lillard’s iconic shot that sent Paul George and the Oklahoma City Thunder home in 2019, there’s always that one player who will take your breath away. Right now, though, it’s Stephen Curry and how he has been raining fire from downtown all month long. Along with dragging the Warriors back to the contention, Stephen Curry’s card value is also gaining more prominence from collectors and investors alike.

Just recently, Curry has broken James Harden’s record for most three-pointers made for the entire month. The Beard’s previous record was 82 in 2019 while the Baby-Faced Assasin has made 85 this April. Thanks to Curry’s impressive offensive performance during the past few weeks, the Golden State Warriors have risen in the standings with a 31-30 record,10th in the West, and very much eligible to participate in the Play-In Tournament soon.

We take a look down below how he has been faring, both on the court and in the card market.

Stephen Curry’s Supernova Streak This Month

Early last month, Curry lashed out at his teammates after Golden State lost to the Los Angeles Clippers by 26 points. Their record back then was 19-19. Since then, the Dubs have won 12 of their last 23 games. During that stretch, Curry went crazy and is balling out to keep the Warriors’ playoff hopes alive.

To do just that, the Splash Brother had to ascend to another level. As of now, Curry is averaging a league-leading 31.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 34.1 minutes per game. He’s also connecting 57% from two, 42% from three, and 91% from the free-throw line, making him one of the most efficient players in the league right now.

Curry’s record-breaking 85 three-pointers made this month is not just helping the Warriors reach the postseason, it’s also taking his offensive box score to another level. Golden State’s All-Star point guard is currently posting an 8.1 OBPM, which places him second in the entire NBA. only Nikola Jokic is better than Curry with 9.1. This means that when it comes to offense, Curry can definitely get a lot of buckets in the most efficient manner possible.

As the regular season winds down, Curry is making a strong case to win his third MVP award. There’s still enough time, though, for the All-Star to do just that and will his team back to the playoffs next month.

The State of Stephen Curry Rookie Cards In The Market

As of now, the sales of Curry’s PSA 10 Topps rookie card haven’t reflected his incredible performance this month. What’s showing on eBay, though, is an upward trend forming on one of his other rookie offerings – Curry’s PSA 10 Bowman rookie card numbered to 2009 copies.

This specific graded Stephen Curry rookie card peaked on eBay last February with a copy selling for $14,000. That price went down to $5,998 when the point guard was sidelined with an injury until the last week of March. Now, this graded card has bounced back to $7,877. This is a sign that the demand for Stephen Curry cards is rising up again on the market.

Those who have invested in Stephen Curry cards are in luck because this is a safe time to sell your stock and make a profit. On the other hand, it wouldn’t be wise to buy the two-time MVP’s cards now because people would price them higher than usual. As always, keep a close eye on Golden State’s record going into the Play-In Tournament. Doing so will help you see a potential peak in Curry’s stock by then.
