Stephen Curry is the latest NBA player to support Colin Kaepernick‘s public protest, and certainly the most noteworthy.

Both Jabari Parker and Nick Young voiced their approval of Kaepernick sitting during the national anthem as a means to standup against the oppression that African Americans and other minorities face in the United States. Now, the NBA's two-time MVP has done the same.

Curry was asked about Kaepernick's protest during an appearance on CNBC, and it was evident that he's given a lot of thought to the subject given the content of his answer:

“I love that there is freedom of speech and he can stand for what he believes in. There's going to be people that disagree with him, and there’s going to be people that agree with him, which is what I think our country stands for. Hopefully (it) will drive the conversation to bettering the equal rights and treatment of African Americans and people of color.”
