A new farming simulator game from the same vein as Harvest Moon is coming this month. Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town releases this March 23, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch. It comes with a brand-new story and features. Your grandfather founded Olive Town years ago with his friends. As the successor of his farm, will you be able to carry on his legacy? As one of the Pioneers of Olive Town, you will have to do your part in the jovial community. GAMEPLAY FEATURES: BUILD YOUR FARM AND DECORATE IT THE WAY YOU WANT!
Although you're inheriting a farm in Pioneers of Olive Town, your grandfather hasn't tended on it for a long while. Hence, your first step is clearing the mess. In Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, you will be able to tame the wilderness and process materials to fulfill different requests from the other townsfolk. You will need a fully-functioning farm to do this, which will require quite the effort. For a more chill gameplay experience, you can also opt-in for the game's easy mode instead.
Thankfully, it's not all work on your farm. You will have different design options as well, allowing you to decorate your farm in any way you see fit. You can also dress up your character in any way you want with a whole array of customization options available. Craft items, decorate costumes and infrastructure, and build a truly unique farm that you can call your own! Then show it off with the game's built-in online sharing functionalities.
RELATIONSHIPS: PIONEERS OF OLIVE TOWN ROMANCE OPTIONS
Relationships are a staple in Story of Seasons, and the best friends system is back in Pioneers of Olive Town. There are five men and five women that you can romance with in the game regardless of your character's gender. For the girls, we have Bridget, Reina, Linh, Blaire, and Laura. For the boys, we have Damon, Emilio, Iori, Ralph, and Jack.
There are also a lot of different characters in Pioneers of Olive Town that you can meet and build friendships with. Through different events in the game, and by helping them in various tasks, you get to learn more about the characters and their stories. There are over 50 townsfolk that you can meet in the game, and all of them have their unique personalities for you to get to know.
Apart from the townsfolk, you will also meet Earth Sprites when you explore Olive Town. These Earth Sprites can lead you to “mysterious, fantastical lands” where “the seasons never change.” There is more than just one of these mysterious lands, so be sure to find them all to truly get the most out of the game!
PRE-ORDER BONUSES AND LIMITED EDITIONS
There are various pre-order bonuses and limited editions available for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. However, most of these are region-specific. If you want to get a particular set, then you'll have to order them online.
In Japan, pre-ordering the game will grant players a total of “16 preorder bonuses” from various retailers. This includes a microfiber cleaning cloth, pass cases, download codes, and unique outfits, among others.
In the US, a limited edition box contains an illustrated box, a Buffy the Buffalo plushie, and a cloth poster.
Finally, in Europe, the deluxe edition box contains the Buffy the Buffalo plushie, an A5 notebook, trading cards, a collector's box, and an A3 Poster.
