Chris Paul went to battle on Wednesday and made sure that the entire Phoenix Suns roster had one thing in mind ahead of Game 6. After a huge game to eliminate his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul was overcome with emotion after one of his more unforgettable playoff performances in his entire 16-year career in the NBA.
“Don't lose,” Paul said when asked by ESPN's Rachel Nichols on what mission he was on in Game 6 (via NBA on ESPN). “Don't lose mission, you know what I'm saying? Damn, that feels good.”

And, when the final buzzer sounded, it was indeed mission accomplished for the 36-year-old and his young Suns unit team as they successfully crown themselves the Western Conference champions for the first time in almost three long decades.
Like a true Sargeant, Paul made sure his team was coming out of the Game 6 battle with a W. The 11-time All-Star took over in the second half and dropped 31 of his game-high of 41 points. Paul silenced his former playing grounds one big shot at a time as he willed his team to a pivotal elimination game against a tough Clippers squad.
Paul has been through it all. From injuries to being moved from team to team, to heartbreaking playoff exits and being written off. But, after the dust has settled, the Point God has shown the world that he's way too tough to just quit and that he's indeed on a mission to win it all by any means necessary.
Mission accomplished, CP. But, as the entire city of Phoenix knows, the job's not finished just yet.
