The Phoenix Suns were humbled on the court on Saturday night — a phrase they haven't heard very often this season. Of their six losses, two of them have been at the hands of Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

Devin Booker was willing to admit that the Warriors were simply the better team on the evening. The Suns star was brutally honest on his assessment of their Christmas Day defeat.

Via Duane Rankin:

“Hats off to that team,” said the Suns star. “They played well tonight on both ends throughout the game, and that's that. They wanted it more and they played like it. We just have to take this loss and move on to our next game.”

It's not very often that the Phoenix Suns get outworked in any contest. But the Warriors' effort matched the Suns' — and then some. Even head coach Monty Williams had to admit that the other side simply gave it more than their squad did:

“They played harder than us,” admitted the Suns coach. “And it's rare that I would consider saying that about our team.”

The Phoenix Suns dropped to second in the Western Conference totem pole for the time being. While it's only a regular-season contest, the loss to the Warriors is a stern reminder of the work they still need to put in to get back to the NBA Finals.
