The era of superteams that currently dominates the NBA has become a topic of mixed viewpoints, as players are damned if they do join one and damned if they don't. Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker also dreams of being part of a superteam, but doing so in his very own way.

The Golden State Warriors have a stronghold as the titan of any superteams assembled, but Booker isn't exactly hoping for their empire to crumble, despite knowing his team is in no position to challenge them.

“ …Dynasties only last for so long,” Booker told Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports. “I’m not wishing trades upon any of the superteams.”

But…

“I’d like to build a superteam. I’d like the superteam to come to me.”

Most superteams are formed while a franchise is one star away from making the jump to an entire new tier of basketball potency. In the Suns' case, the hopeful SuperSunics, if you will — they'd be two stars away from making that happen, as Booker is the lone star on the roster to serve as an attraction for a star-studded free agent class.

Devin Booker has shown his versatility by playing a lot more point guard, hoping to bundle his scoring prowess with his ability to make plays, now averaging a career-high 7.1 assists per game through the early get-go.

“If it’s playmaking, I’ll do that,” said Booker. “If it’s scoring I’ll do that. I’m trying to figure out that balance. It’s the position I’m in now. We’ve had a lot of different lineups.”

“If that’s through free agency, people seeing what we have here with the big fella [Deandre Ayton] and myself and wanting to join in on that, to reach higher heights, then I’m with that,” he said.

Deandre Ayton has been every bit of the double-double monster the Suns had expected him to be, but he's still ways away from being an All-Star, let alone a player others are hoping to play with.

Booker's fantasy of a superteam could become reality at some point, but not before Ayton takes his game to the next level and starts making a name for himself as one of the most dominant big men in the league.
