The Phoenix Suns currently find themselves in the cellar of the Western Conference standings and won't be making a playoff push anytime soon. As a result, Suns head coach Igor Kokoskov recently stated that the team needed some time away from one another, making this year's NBA All-Star break quite a timely hiatus.

“We’re all going to get to escape from each other,” Kokoskov said, via USA TODAY. “I think we all need that escape emotionally from losing games, but we are who we are as a group. We belong here and if we want to change something, we have to do it as a group. Starting from each individual, understanding that we need to change.”

The 11-48 Suns will begin the second half of the 2018-19 regular season with the fewest wins in the entire league alongside the equally dismal New York Knicks.

“We’ll escape from each other and we’ll have to find a way to regroup ourselves and go from there,” Kokoskov added.

With yet another NBA Draft class set to make an immediate impact on the league, perhaps the Suns can parlay yet another high lottery pick into a superstar talent.

“We have to use this all-star break to regroup ourselves emotionally, physically, and mentally,” Kokoskov said. “We’ll go from there and stay together.”

Not only will the Suns almost surely earn a top three pick come summertime, a new set of rules puts Phoenix in prime position for the possibility of receiving back-to-back No. 1 overall picks.
