Ryan Fitzpatrick is fun, but he's not the answer. Josh Rosen could be the answer, but he hasn't turned potential into production on two different teams. The Miami Dolphins need a quarterback in the worst way.

The Dolphins have the opportunity to grab their passer of the future in the 2020 NFL Draft. Sitting at pick No. 3, they are in prime position to grab one of Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa, Oregon's Justin Herbert, or Utah State's Jordan Love. They should draft none of those options.

Not only do the three have red flags, but the Dolphins also aren't quite ready to support one of those marquee prospects. Their offensive line is in shambles and their run game is non-existent. Placing one of the three in their offense could spell doom.

Instead, Miami should have a boring draft. Rather than draft a passer, why not select an offensive tackle in Georgia's Andrew Thomas or Iowa's Tristan Wirfs? Each project as franchise tackles, which, after trading Laremy Tunsil, the ‘Fins desperately need.

From there, the Dolphins can spend the rest of the first round building up the offense to surround a quarterback. Georgia running back D'Andre Swift could leave an anemic run-game feeling fat and full and more offensive lineman could spell success down the line.

Add a run game and an offensive line with an already intriguing wide receiver corps and the Dolphins have an offense that can support a promising young quarterback. They can't say the same now.

So who will the quarterback be?

Ideally, he's the one who plays at Clemson, Trevor Lawrence.

Lawrence, a sophomore, is a prospect touted to go No. 1 overall since he came out of Cartersville High in Georgia. The long-haired star has it all. Intangibles, size (6-6, 220), athleticism, mental fortitude, a cannon arm, accuracy, and touch. Comparing him to a more athletic Peyton Manning may not be an understatement.

Lawrence has never lost a college football game. In 28 games played, he has passed for 6,452 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions on a 66.9% completion rate. Those stats could be gaudier if he doesn't blow-out seemingly every opponent he plays.

Lawrence is an ideal prospect to start a franchise with. Many thought he could start in the NFL at 19 years old — I, admittedly, am one of those people. The Clemson Tiger is born to play football and should bring wins to anyone he plays with. He will be the No. 1 pick if he declares in 2021.

The Dolphins should want Lawrence, especially if they were to build a team to support him in the 2020 NFL Draft. Of course, that would mean tanking for another season, but it may be worth it. The blonde-locked sensation would give the Dolphins their best quarterback play since Dan Marino.

I guarantee it.
