Carmelo Anthony is finally rid of the all the drama that hounded his final days in New York. Now, the 10-time All-Star’s name is mostly followed by a sense of excitement especially for Oklahoma City Thunder fans after GM Sam Presti managed to run away with another highway robbery.

Oklahoma City virtually transformed Victor Oladipo, Domantas Sabonis, Enes Kanter, and Doug McDermott into Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, placing the Thunder in the discussion of being a superteam alongside the NBA’s elites.

Anthony will have a fresh start in Oklahoma City, but one thing he’s carrying over from the New York Knicks, aside from his lethal offensive repertoire, is his jersey number.

Dating back to the Seattle Supersonics days, No.7 has been worn by, yes, seven players with the most prominent being Rashard Lewis from 1999-2007.

The eighth owner of that jersey number is by far more accomplished than Lewis, and he is poised to push the team to greater heights next season alongside the players wearing jersey numbers zero and 13 for the re-energized Thunder squad.

For what it's worth, Oklahoma City would've preferred that Carmelo Anthony's jersey came along with a hoodie.
