Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams' smile beaming with pride in a picture he shared online, boasting of his accomplishment in a video game.

Adams placed first in Fortnite, a co-op sandbox survival game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Macintosh operating systems. The 7-foot center was apparently playing the game on an Xbox.

As reported by Avery Yang of SportsTechie, Adams has expressed his love for video games and among his favorite video games are DOTA 2 and Smite. Adams also said that he watches ELEAGUE, a professional eSports league which can be followed on TBS, Twitch, and YouTube.

When asked if he has plans of being a professional gamer, Adams replied:

“No, I’m not that good [at video games], mate,” Adams said. “Never was.”

Adams is just one of a few NBA players who are into video games. Boston Celtics' Gordon Hayward, too, is reportedly very good at League of Legends.

Rick Fox, a three-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, even joked that Hayward was caught up with either signing with the Celtics or remaining with the Utah Jazz because he offered Hayward an esports contract.

Fox owns Echo Fox,  a professional eSports organization which fields teams in League of Legends, Call of Duty: WWII, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Gears of War 4, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat X, Tekken 7, Injustice 2, H1Z1, and Vainglory.

Though Fox was joking, he may have blurted out future plans for his company. Who knows, NBA players are competitive by nature. Once they retire, they may crave for some high-level competition not necessarily through contact sports, but through eSports and video games.
