Carmelo Anthony spent seven topsy-turvy seasons with the New York Knicks. He didn’t experience a lot of winning, but he sure did do a lot of scoring. Melo’s tenure in New York finally came to an end this summer, as he greenlit a trade to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Anthony officially began his tenure with the Thunder against his old team, and he opened his scoring account with his new squad on his very first shot, a wide-open 3-pointer.

Carmelo Anthony received a pass from new teammate Russell Westbrook which led to an uncontested triple. Melo did his trademark three-to-the-temple celebration upon draining the shot.

It figures to be the first of many points the new Thunder star scores this season, not to mention the first of a good number of Westbrook-to-Melo hook-ups for baskets in Oklahoma City. He'll gladly take those looks off a Westbrook feed not just because he's a natural scorer, but also to avoid pissing off the reigning MVP.
