Tiago Splitter was recently spotted at the Golden State Warriors’ practice. It doesn’t appear the free-agent center has plans of joining the defending champions, though. Splitter is still nursing an injured hip and is apparently considering transitioning into coaching, according to ESPN’s Marc Spears.

Splitter, 32, has had a tough time with injuries over the last couple of years. After leaving the San Antonio Spurs in 2015, he’s featured in just 44 games over the last two seasons for the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers. He was limited to a mere eight appearances for the Sixers last season, averaging 4.9 points and 2.8 rebounds.

After all of Tiago Splitter’s injury setbacks, it’s understandable if he is growing tired of attempting to make another comeback and is now thinking about his post-playing days.

While Splitter was never the most impressive athlete, the Brazilian big man compensated by being a smart player on both ends of the floor. It remains to be seen whether he can translate that on-court intelligence into coaching, but it’s still a worthwhile idea for him to try coaching if he does decide to hang up his sneakers.
