On Friday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Atlanta Hawks in overtime by a score of 123-120. In that game, the Timberwolves' fans started to boo their own player Andrew Wiggins for playing poorly during the game.

After the contest, Wiggins spoke up and clearly was bothered by the booing and threw a shot right back at them.

Andrew Wiggins did score 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out two assists. However, he shot 5-of-14 from the field and a piss poor 5-of-12 from the free throw line. Not only that, but Wiggins showed a lack of effort defensively all game. Perhaps the booing was warranted for such apathy.

Wiggins is known for being a very good scorer. He's very athletic and can shoot fairly efficient from deep. He also draws fouls on drives a lot. However, he's only shooting 75 percent from the line this season and doesn't offer much else other than isolation baskets. He doesn't pass the ball much or create offense for others. Most defensive possessions he finds himself lost or lazily guarding his man, allowing more baskets than he can produce himself.

Andrew Wiggins needs a lot of improvement overall before he can live up to his hype as the top selection in the 2014 NBA draft. Hopefully, he can continue to take advantage of not having to share offensive possessions with Jimmy Butler by putting more effort on both sides of the court.

Wiggins on the season is averaging 16.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 40.2 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from deep.

The Timberwolves are 16-19 and currently sit 13th in the NBA’s Western Conference.
