Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose becomes an unrestricted free agent once free agency starts on July 1.

Rose says he feels comfortable with the Timberwolves, but will listen to offers in free agency before he makes his decision.

Rose played in 51 games this season for the Timberwolves. The former MVP underwent surgery on his right elbow on March 23 to address bone chips. Rose will be able to resume basketball activities in 2-3 weeks.

Rose averaged 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game this season for the Timberwolves. The Chicago native shot 48.2 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from beyond the arc and 85.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Rose started 13 games this season. He came off the bench 38 times. The youngest MVP in NBA history scored a career-high 50 points on Halloween against the Utah Jazz.

The Timberwolves are missing the playoffs this season. Now that Tom Thibodeau is no longer in Minnesota, Rose might be inclined to leave the organization and join a contender should he receive interest from one.

Because he's still injury-prone, Rose probably won't receive a lucrative offer in free agency, but he should get more than the vet minimum. Rose has made the vet minimum the last two seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Timberwolves.
