Minnesota Timberwolves star Jimmy Butler is in the midst of a trade rumor storm this early in the season, a former Wolves man that knows a thing or two about trade rumors, now-Utah Jazz point guard Ricky Rubio, shared some bits of sound advice for the four-time All-Star.

“I got traded like 10 times when I was here,” said Ricky Rubio in jest, according to Dane Moore of 1500 ESPN. “And until that happens, you can’t think about that every day. When that will happen, it will happen.”

Rubio was in the midst of trade rumors for seemingly his entire six-year stint in Minnesota, as he was simply the major scapegoat as a misfire draft selection by the organization.

Jimmy Butler is set to miss tonight's game against the Utah Jazz due to soreness, a report that suddenly hinted at a potential extended absence until he was traded, only to be contradicted minutes later by a different report claiming the absence will only be a game long.

The Timberwolves promised to find a trade for Butler as long as he played for the team while the team looked for the right parameters in return. So far, the Miami Heat and the Houston Rockets have both made very different offers, but neither iteration of a package has been enough to satisfy the Wolves front office.

All Jimmy Butler can do is keep leading the league in steals (3.0 per game) and playing at the best of his ability to drive up his price and the consequent demand for his services.
