The Tennessee Titans agreed to a massive extension with quarterback Ryan Tannehill on Sunday, inking the veteran signal-caller to a four-year, $118 million deal. $62 million of that is fully guaranteed.

Now that the Titans have their quarterback in place, they are expected to utilize the franchise tag on star running back Derrick Henry:

The Titans have until Monday night's deadline to place the tag on Henry, which could also give them more time in the event they want to sign him to a long-term extension as well.

Henry was the rushing champion in 2019, churning out 1,540 yards on the ground at an average of 5.1 yards per carry. He also led the league in rushing touchdowns (16).

Tennessee had been grappling with a number of decisions with respect to both Tannehill and Henry. They were among the teams rumored to be in play for Tom Brady, but Tannehill's deal puts an end to that discussion.

Whether the Titans look to hash out a new deal prior to the start of camp or sometime during the next offseason, Henry is going to get paid. He has now rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the past two seasons while averaging over five yards per carry.

Sooner or later, Henry figures to challenge for the running back record in terms of guaranteed money.
