The Tennessee Titans are set to face off against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, which is an opportunity for running back Derrick Henry to face off against one of his idols in Adrian Peterson. In the buildup to the Titans-Lions Week 15 contest, Henry spoke out about his admiration for the legend that is Peterson.

Henry had nothing but good things to say about the Lions vet, whom he admitted to be one of his childhood heroes:

“I think every kid was a fan of Adrian Peterson,” the Titans RB said, via Paul Skrbina of the Tennessean. “I know I was coming up. High school, even in college. Adrian and Marshawn (Lynch) were the top two for awhile. But big AP fan. The longevity in his career is amazing. To keep being able to have production. He's a Hall of Famer. Everyone is a big fan of AP.”

Derrick Henry's singing of praises did not stop there. The 26-year-old Titans star also shared one of his most revered moments in Adrian Peterson's illustrious career:

“I don't think there's anybody like Adrian Peterson,” Henry said. “When you say, ‘generational talent,' I think he's the perfect running back or player to use that term with. … There's plenty of highlights you can pick from ‘All Day's' game. … I think the biggest was he came back after tearing his ACL, ran for 2,000, MVP. There's not many people that can do that. Him coming back and tearing the league up, that speaks volumes of the type of player he is.”

Henry himself has emerged as one of the top running backs in the league today. He's in the midst of a historic season, and we're certain that Peterson is proud of what the Titans youngster has accomplished in his own career.
