Stipe Miocic is set to defend his title in the Octagon against Francis Ngannou on Saturday night, March 27th in UFC 260. The Heavyweight champion is considered by many to be one of the greatest Heavyweights in UFC history, and it seems he has his sights on furthering his fighting career outside of the UFC.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Miocic offered his opinion on potentially fighting Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury in the boxing ring. Joshua and Fury recently signed a two-fight deal to unify the Boxing Heavyweight titles. However, it sounds as though Stipe wants in on the mix as well.

“I would love [a boxing match w/ Fury or Joshua]. It would be just a different — get out of my comfort zone. Plus it's a fight, anything can happen and I know I can make something happen.”

The UFC Heavyweight champion is known for his knockout power. Even if he's entering a boxing ring and playing a different sport, he'd definitely have a puncher's chance. It'd also be interesting to see how Miocic does in a boxing match, where he doesn't have to worry about takedowns or leg kicks. He'd clearly have a disadvantage in a match against either Joshua or Fury, but it'd be worth watching anyway.

Conor McGregor was the first major UFC star to take his talents into the boxing world. During his bout against Floyd Mayweather, it was obvious McGregor was outmatched, however, he did get a few licks in before the fight ended. Heavyweights are much more capable of knocking their opponents out due to their size. For that reason, a boxing match between Stipe Miocic and Joshua/Fury has the potential to be a thriller.

It might be a while before Miocic finds his way into the boxing ring, as it'll have to wait until after Joshua's and Fury's two-fight deal. But if this inter-heavyweight clash ever happens, those PPV sales would practically sell themselves.
