How much would you be willing to risk if you believe Phil Mickelson will win the US Open. Well, according from lunatic who claims to also be fan, that answer is a brand new car. Or, more accurately, $45,000.

The Lefty has done a lot in his career, but winning the US Open isn't an accomplishment he's secured. That didn't stop one maniac from placing the large sum of money on Phil Mickelson, who is a long shot to win the event at 75/1. That being said, there's a high ceiling if he does, as the fan would net a cool $3.3 million if things went his way.

Obviously, that's a relatively large as all hell if.

“Heard someone place 45k on me to win the open at 75-1 (pays 3.3 mil),” Phil Mickelson joked on the mean streets of Twitter. “Hoping for both of us I have a 3 shot lead on 18 tee.”

At the time of this writing, things aren't looking good for Phil or the fan, with Mickelson nine over par, currently tied in 141st place. To put that in some perspective, there's a two-way tie at first with both golfers shooting five under.

But hey, crazier things have happened at the US Open, right?

Oh, who are we kidding. Some dude just like $45,000 betting on Phil Mickelson to win the US Open. Instead of doing that, he should have just invested in some land I have down in Florida.
