Vlade Divac wants to make sure DeMarcus Cousins is happy.

If the Kings can start figuring things out and effectively build around Cousins, they could actually create something special in this league. Their general manager wants to make sure their best player knows how highly they think of him.

This is some really high praise.

Via James Ham of CSNBayArea.com:

“It’s a no-brainer,” Kings general manager Vlade Divac said from his courtside seat. “He’s the most dominant player in the whole world. And being from Serbia, I have to root for Serbia, but I feel bad for them. He’s going to kill them.”

Might want to reserve that title for LeBron James.

This is harmless coming from Divac and he's really just trying to give Cousins a big compliment. And there is a difference between “best” and “dominant.” If you want to interpret “dominant” as the best big man who can bully other players around, which kind of was the definition in the past when Shaquille O'Neal held the title, you can make a case for Cousins.

There is some serious potential there with Boogie. He's improved his numbers basically every season he's been in the league, and he's done so under the sometimes dysfunctional regime that exists in Sacramento. There's been a lot of turnover in terms of coaches and players, but Cousins has still been a model of consistency for the most part.

But most dominant player in the world…probably not quite yet. He may have the potential to get there, though.
