The Golden State Warriors weren't immune to the NBA's brutal schedule last season, so it's no wonder why the team's general manager Bob Myers is a fan of the league's new calendar.

After making significant changes in the scheduling last year, the NBA continued its efforts to make the regular season program even better for all teams. This year, the season has been extended by a full week, thereby completely eliminating four-games-in-five-nights stretches.

The new schedule also decreased the number of back-to-back games, all in order to reduce travel stress and give players more time to recover.

These changes, of course, came as good news for all organizations and their management, including Golden State and Myers, who described the new schedule as “markedly better” than the 2016-17 NBA season, per Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post.

Myers and his Warriors certainly have something to be happy about with the new schedule, considering that they were also forced to rest players in the 2016-17 campaign.

Most notably, in their nationally televised matchup with the San Antonio Spurs last March, the Dubs rested stars Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala following a difficult stretch that saw them play eight games in 13 days, seven of which were on the road.

The Warriors are once again poised to contend for the title, and with the schedule now more team-friendly, there's no saying what they can do and achieve if their strong core will be able to stay healthy and play more games together.
