Before putting on his Golden State Warriors Jersey, DeMarcus Cousins will spend some time with the team's G League affiliate, noting that it was his idea to practice with the Santa Cruz Warriors first.

Per Adam Johnson of 2 Ways & 10 Days, his time in Santa Cruz will serve as a way to get his rhythm back.

At the beginning of the season, the Warriors announced that their newest center will return back to action sometime in December or January. Recently, he shared that he can already go out and play right now — that's if he doesn't have a choice. But as much as possible, he wants to be at a full 100 percent before joining new teammates. Per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, Cousins said:

“I mean … I feel like if my life depended on it at the moment, yeah, I could go out and play a game,” Cousins said after the practice. “I want to be 100 percent or as close to 100 percent as I can be when I do return. I want my body in tip-top shape. It is not even about the Achilles, it's just about my other body parts and making sure everything is fine-tuned and in the best shape possible to go out and play a full game.”

The Warriors haven't released a specific date with regard to the 28-year-old's return. But as it stands, it may be sooner than expected. Once he joins Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant, we may see the best starting five ever assembled in NBA history.
