Despite leaving the New Orleans Pelicans to sign with the Golden State Warriors this offseason, DeMarcus Cousins still has a close friendship with Anthony Davis and believes that his former teammate is destined for great things this season.

As the 2018-19 NBA season continues to draw closer, there have been some great stories coming out. During the summer, Cousins created one of the most shocking stories when he chose to sign a one-year contract with the Warriors. It was a move that angered many fans and made many others already give up on their team's chances this year.

Cousins was a big piece of the Pelicans last season and was having one of the best seasons of his career before he went down with a torn Achilles. However, while he has moved on from the team, he showed that he's still in full support of Davis.

ClutchPoints took to Twitter to call to attention Cousins' MVP prediction. That prediction just so happens to be Davis.

Davis was third in MVP voting last year, with James Harden winning the award. He had a monstrous season on both ends of the court and is projected to have a similar, if not better, season in 2018-19.

Last season with the Pelicans, Davis averaged 28.1 points per game to go along with 11.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. He shot 53.4 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 34 percent of his 3-point attempts as well.

There have been plenty of rumors about Davis potentially leaving New Orleans when he hits free agency. In addition to those free agency rumors, the last couple of years have seen Davis' name mentioned in trade rumors as well. Even with all the chatter, Davis seems very committed to the Pelicans.

New Orleans feels good about the roster they have put around Davis. Cousins leaving was a major disappointment, but the Pelicans were able to sign Julius Randle to replace him.

Expect to see another huge season from Davis. He is going to have some stiff competition for the MVP award, but Cousins doesn't seem to have any doubt that he will end up winning it when everything is said and done.
