Golden State Warriors All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson won't be 100 percent in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday against the Toronto Raptors, according to Dr. Alan Beyer, an orthopedic surgeon and the executive medical director at Hoag Orthopedic Institute in Southern California.

Thompson missed Game 3 due to a left hamstring strain. Dr. Beyer says the Warriors guard can play despite not being 100 percent, while noting that Kevin Durant can't do the same since his injury is more serious.

“Two extra days rest does help with a hamstring,” Dr. Beyer told Brad Botkin of CBS Sports. “And the hamstring is a different beast than a calf. With a weakened calf, you're worried about significant re-injury and even tearing the Achilles tendon further down.

“Plus, as we talked about, you need your calf muscles more to jump than you do your hamstring. Klay Thompson will not be 100 percent Friday night. Not a chance. But he can play. That's the difference. Durant just can't play right now.”

The Warriors are down 2-1 in the series. The Dubs are excited to get Thompson back for Game 4, as they struggled on both ends of the floor without him in Game 3.

In the 2019 playoffs, Thompson is averaging 19.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 41.1 percent beyond the arc and 89.7 percent from the free-throw line.
