The Golden State Warriors' 2021 preseason winning streak rolled right over into the regular season as they knocked off the Los Angeles Lakers on opening night. But that wasn't the only streak that continued.

The newest addition to the starting lineup, Jordan Poole, had another solid performance scoring 20 points on 8 of 18 shots. His production the last few weeks and Tuesday night convinced teammate Draymond Green that these games aren't a fluke from the Warriors guard.

“He (Jordan Poole) played a damn good game tonight. I have no doubt that he will keep that going… He'll continue to grow, and as he continues to grow, that obviously helps us.”

Poole's 20 point game on opening night helped take down a star-studded Los Angeles Lakers team led by LeBron James. It was Poole's 16 second-half points that took over the game and closed the door on the Lakers' chances of winning.

In the first half, Poole looked a little out of control for the Warriors. He forced a few bad shots that weren't even close to going in. It looked as if the moment was too big for the budding star, and that's normal when young players get thrown into these types of situations.

Once the Warriors came out of the locker room for the second half, Poole found his swagger. He was under control, and it equaled an efficient second half. A half that lifted the team over the Lakers while Stephen Curry struggled.

Poole's confidence never wavered, and that's the mental toughness you need to be a star in this league. Filling in for All-Star Klay Thompson is a tough job. But the confident third-year player from Michigan is ready for the task.
