LeBron James shocked the NBA world when he made a surprise appearance in the famed Drew League. The pro-am league last saw the Los Angeles Lakers star in 2011, during the infamous NBA lockout. Almost 11 years later, LeBron continued to wow the crowd with his masterful performance in front of a small crowd.

Draymond Green took this opportunity to sing LeBron James' praises and fire back at the Lakers star haters. The Golden State Warriors veteran spoke on his podcast about the impact of The King's appearance in the Drew League. (via The Draymond Green Show)

The Drew League is a rather open tournament in terms of roster makeup. Players can play on a team for just one game, even they haven't played in other games. That is why many NBA players are seen playing in this league during the offseason. However, LeBron has typically not made an appearance here, and for good reason.

One of the hallmarks of LeBron James' long career is his meticulous care for his body. The Lakers star has made it a point of emphasis to take care of his body during the offseason. Couple that with his insane eight-year stretch of Finals runs, and it's no wonder James didn't have any time to show up in the pro-am circuit.

That is why it was a pleasant treat for LeBron to show up for a random Drew League game this year. As Green pointed out, many young NBA fans would have never gotten a chance to see their idol play live if not for his appearance. Also, it was just fun to see LeBron dominate outside the NBA, even if he wasn't playing at full power for that game.
